Under the Influence was an immersive work dedicated to the South Wales coal miners jazz bands of the Aberdare region. Broadmeadow researched at miners libraries and the National archive and responded to their act of parading through their hometown during the 1926 General Strike, playing kazoos and bringing a spectacle of extravagant fantasy to the streets. For the exhibtion she built a maze like space which mimiced the cramped and darkk conditions the miners work in the coal Valleys accross South Wales. Thier carnival story was protrayed through projections, sounds and illusions,
